The Latinx Mental Health Project’s mission is to create an organization that offers culturally responsive counseling to immigrants and their families. We hope to accomplish this through community collaboration, community integrated research, funding, and training.

“Immigration is a life-changing experience that often precipitates multiple challenges to health and mental health well-being. Culturally responsive counseling when working with immigrants and their families requires knowledge about immigrants’ life experiences, theoretical frameworks instructive about loss and grief as a result of immigration and identity challenges based on contextual changes, and interventions that may facilitate well-being.”
