CareNet’s Camila Pulgar receives Diamante Award for her commitment to the Latino community.
We are proud to announce that our own Camila Pulgar recently received the Diamante Award in the Health and Sciences category for her work in organizing for better health and mental health services for Latino groups in Forsyth County. Camila spearheads the Carenet task force to assess and develop mental health access for Latinos, which is a collaboration of CareNet, FaithHealth, several Wake Forest Baptist Health departments, Wake Forest University Counseling Department and Divinity School, and others.The highly respected Latino Diamante Awards are presented each year, to honor individuals or organizations that are making significant contributions to the Latino/Hispanic community of North Carolina and to celebrate the diversity within the Latino/Hispanic community. The Health and Sciences award is presented to an individual who shows excellence in teaching, research, organizing programs or assisting others.
