Wondering if you would benefit from counseling?
There are times in our lives when we experience overwhelming feelings of sadness, fear, worry or anger. At some point, most of us will make decisions that don’t align with our values. Does this mean we need to see a therapist every time we experience strong emotions or unhealthy choices? Of course not! So, how do you know when you might need support – someone to walk with you through the process of gaining balance in your life? Answering two questions might help you decide if seeing a therapist will be beneficial.
Sometimes, intense emotions or unhealthy behaviors will be limited in their duration. However, if they stay with you for more than a month, consider speaking with a counselor.
Think about how they are affecting you in different areas. How are you performing at work or school? Are you engaging socially and staying connected with friends? Do you have healthy relationships? Are you getting along with your family? If you think one or more of these areas of your life are being negatively affected, we encourage you to connect with a therapist.
If you want support to help you thrive, working with one of our CareNet therapists might be the right choice for you. So, please, make the call for your best mental health.
